Reception Class Chicks

On the morning of 15th March 2018 we have had a lot of excitement in the Reception classroom as our chicks have begun to hatch. So far we have two chicks who have been named Dave and Bob. The children (and staff) are all very excited by the new arrivals and we look forward to watching the chicks grow.

Zoolab Visit

On Tuesday 6th February, Reception children were visited by Zoolab as part of their mini beasts topic.

During the course of the afternoon they got to stroke some giant snails (named Shelly and Sheldon), peeked in at a tarantula (Matilda) and handled a hissing cockroach (aka Dora the Explorer). The highlight of the afternoon was when they met a  very friendly corn snake named Tata. The bravest of our children (and staff) stroked or held Tata whilst the rest were happy to watch from a distance.

The children all really enjoyed the visit and had great hands on experience. Thank you to the parents for supporting this activity.

Reception children made the most of the snow before Christmas!

Reception's Preparations for Christmas

The children have been very busy at the end of the Autumn Term, getting ready for Christmas in Santa's Workshop. They have been practising their writing, with letters to Santa and enjoying role play activities.
