Reception had a great time at Mop End and were very lucky the weather held for the day. We took part in lots of exciting activities including, pond dipping, a woodland minibeast hunt, making a colour palette from nature and creating smelly cocktails.
While we were pond dipping, the children caught a Cased Caddis Fly, a Smooth Newt, Newlets, a leech and even some Phantom Midge Larvae, which were transparent. See if you can see these minibeasts in our photos.
Reception would also like to say a big thank you to the parent helpers who came on the trip and helped with the groups.
The best way to sum up the day would be to use the words of one of the children, “This was the best day ever!”.
