St John's was well represented by dancers and gymnasts at the Princes Risborough Gym and Dance Festival on Thursday evening. The Key Stage 1 dance club performed a Hawaiian themed dance, showing great rhythm and timing; really impressive for such young children and thanks to the work of Miss Henley. Members of Gym Club, from years 5 and 6 performed to 'Happier', combining gymnastics with dance. Their performance included sports acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics using ribbons. The girls, who demonstrated excellent timing and control in their movements, choreographed the routine themselves and showed excellent team work. The final group representing St John's was the Natalie Jane Dance Group, who performed a rock and roll style routine. Their timing was immaculate and the children showed great skill in their movements, performing with great agility.
At the morning rehearsals it was lovely to see the fantastic contributions from the other schools represented at the festival. Throughout the day all the children behaved beautifully and this was mentioned by Mrs Woodley, the organiser of the event, at the end of the performance.
Many thanks to all parents and staff who supported the children.
